Olive Tree Candle, from Flamingo Estate
he Agrigento Olive Tree Candle is inspired by sunset in two places: our Olive grove at Flamingo Estate, and the ancient Olive groves surrounding Agrigento’s Valley of the Temples, on the southern coast of Sicily.
But they are closer than you might think. At the Estate, our Olive Trees are descendants of old Mediterranean varieties, grown from cuttings whose ancestors took root long ago in Europe. At sunset, their silver leaves catch the last light, the trunks turn dark and sculptural, and the whole garden smells green, floral, woody, and alive.
Agrigento holds that same feeling: ancient Greek temples rising from a Mediterranean garden of Olive Trees, Almond, Carob, Citrus, and wild herbs. This candle is not about Olive Oil. It is about the Olive Tree itself: the leaf, the bark, the branch, the grove.
It is herbal, bright, and deeply unusual. Galbanum and Violet Leaf give it a vivid green snap, Eucalyptus brings a clean brightness, and Sandalwood settles everything into soft, sacred warmth. When lit, something surprising opens up: a scent that is sweet, floral, green, and grassy all at once. Strange and beautiful, and unlike anything else we make. x Richard
- Care Instructions: For the first burn, allow wax to melt evenly for 2–3 hours. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" and do not burn for more than 3 hours at a time. Stop use when 1/4" of wax remains.
